The twenty-three year old Brazilian Gustavo Kuerten (l), affectionately know as "Guga" by his army of fans, defeated some of the best hard court players in tennis, Marat Safin (c) and Lleyton Hewitt (r) in the quarter finals, semi-finals and final respectively. Kuerten proved himself to be a true champion on all surfaces, with his win over Marat Safin of Russia for his first hard court title of his career and fourth title of the year at Indianapolis. ©2000 Janelle Jones IFPO
