Media Request Submission Guidelines
To help us process your media credential requests as efficiently as possible, please follow the guidelines below before submitting your request.
1. Research the Event
Before requesting media access, you are responsible for researching the event thoroughly. Please gather the following information:
- Event name
- Event website
- Date and time
- Venue/location
- Sports Teams, performers, speakers, or participants (if applicable)
- Any other important event details
A quick Google search and a review of the event’s official website will usually provide most of the information you need.
2. Review the Media Credential Process
Every event has its own media credential requirements. Before submitting your request, determine:
- Is there a media application that you must complete?
- Is there an application that your editor or media organization must complete?
- Is there a media contact you need to email directly?
- Is an assignment letter required?
- Are there any additional documents or requirements?
When looking over the event website, words like “Media” “Press” “Credentials” “Access” “Registration” “Application”, can typically help point you in the right direction to find this information. Please have this information ready before contacting us.
3. Submit your Media Request
Once you have completed your research, send us an email at homeoffice@ainewsservice.net with all relevant information, including:
- Event name
- Date and location
- Event website
- Media credential requirements
- Submission deadline
- Any forms, links, or contact information related to the credential process
We will review your request and determine the best way to assist you in obtaining media access. If you have any questions or are not sure how to proceed, please reach out to us at homeoffice@ainewsservice.net. We would be happy to help.
Submission Deadlines
Most events have strict media credential deadlines.
- Larger events may require applications several months in advance.
- Most events require requests to be submitted at least two weeks before the event.
- We recommend sending your request to us at least one week before the credential deadline whenever possible.
This allows us enough time to review your request, ask any necessary questions, gather additional information if needed, and submit everything before the deadline.
While we do our best to process requests as quickly as possible, last-minute submissions may not be accommodated.
Submitting an application or submitting an assignment letter 2-3 days before an event does not give you the best chance of gaining access. To use your press credentials at their full potential, you must research deadlines well in advance.
Your Responsibility
It is the member’s responsibility to research the event and gather all required information before submitting a request.
We are happy to help facilitate the credential process, but we are unable to research every event on behalf of our members. Requests submitted without the necessary information may be delayed or returned for completion.
Press Membership Benefits & Fees
Our press packages that are FULLY SUPPORTED includes:
- One (1) Press Request per member, per month no additional cost.
Additional requests: - $22 for each additional media request submitted during the same month.
Express processing: - If you require your request to be processed by the next business day, and it is possible for our team, an additional $18 Express Processing Fee will apply.
Not sure if your press credentials are “fully supported”? Just ask! We would be glad to point you in the right direction.
Please note that express processing speeds up our review and submission process but does not guarantee approval or acceptance by the event organizer.
